Werejackals are a type of Werecreature that appear in the Wereworld series. They are people who can take on a jackal-like form. The Jackalords rule over the great great city of Azra, the Jewel of Omir, in the eastern realm of Lyssia. They are neighbors and fierce enemies with the nomadic Doglords from the north and the Hyenas of Ro-Shan in the south. During the reign of King Wergar the Jackals were also enemies with the Wolf and his companions as Wergar led a crusade into Omir in an attempt to take it over. King Faisal would later change his opinions on the wolves when Drew Ferran arrives to save his city from the attacking forces of the Dogs, the Hyenas, and the Cats instead of trying to conquer it.
